Crock Pot Hawaiian Chicken Sliders

When it too hot outside to grill and I don’t want to heat up the kitchen, I bring out an old and trusted friend---Ms. Crock-pot and slow cook these yummy sliders. Works well with chicken breasts too!

Ingredients:
• 3 pounds of boneless chicken thighs
• 2 ½ cups BBQ Sauce (see recipe below)
• 20 oz. chopped pineapple in a can (liquid drained)
• 1 tsp soy sauce
• King’s Hawaiian Sweet Rolls

Directions:
1. Add chicken, BBQ sauce, soy sauce and pineapple to crock pot. Heat on high 5 hours or longer on low. Heat until easily shredded.
2. Shred chicken using 2 forks once tender.

3. Serve on King Hawaiian Buns with choice of chutney (optional)

Homemade BBQ Sauce (makes about 2 ½ cups)

Ingredients:
• 1 ½ cup Ketchup
• 1 cup light brown sugar
• 3/4 cup vomFASS Apple Balsam Vinegar
• 1 TBLS Dried Mustard
• 2 tsp. vomFASS Sweet Smoked Paprika
• ¼ cup chili sauce
• Dash hot sauce to taste (Tabasco or Franks)
• Salt and Pepper to taste

Directions:
1. Combine all ingredients in a saucepan, stir and simmer for 10 – 15 minutes
2. Allow to cool, store in a covered jar or container.
3. Best to use up within 7 days
